Manohar Lal Baharani, born March 04, 1951, a graduate electrical engineer (1972 – NIT Raipur, CG, India); post graduate in environmental law (2002 – National Law School of India University Bengaluru. Superannuated from the Public Sector - an Engineering & Consulting Organisation, MECON, Ranchi in 2011. Over four decades of experience include engineering & projects implementation services for three major industrial projects (metallurgical & power reforms) and a number of small projects. On consultancy front contributed in five major studies for ailing industry / industrial sector for banks, a number of UNFCCC Secretariat's tasks as technical expert for CDM methodologies reviews and CDM / JI assessments. I have an international exposure of 23 countries during preceding 40 years for very short assignments of technologies, engineering & business development for MECON and assessments as Technical Expert for UNFCCC Secretariat. These milestones encompassed organising a number capacity building exercises, workshops, seminars, writing course material for IGNOU, a chapter in a UNU sponsored reference manual on regional integration. Now in an individual capacity; I am continuing learning drive in clean energy technologies, energy efficiency / performance assessments / technical audits, carbon finance and prospects for the silver economy. Empanelled as Technical Expert with National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (NABCB), Quality Council of India and UNFCCC Secretariat, Bonn, Germany. Life member of Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture & Computer Society of India. In addition to the professional activities; serving in social domain since 2016 (about on man-day / week) for sensitising / mentoring youth through College Alumni, CEDMAP & HelpAge, catalysing active ageing for seniors through All India Senior Citizens Confederation (AISCCON) Navi Mumbai as the Chairman to its CSR Committee & Central Council Member.
