In this world of chance, change and interdependent co-existence; the present is dynamic. Today with fast pace of technological advancements impacting our lifestyle catching up with the present is a challenge. Our Alumni registered with statutory authorities on October 27, 2006 broadly defines the vision in its memorandum of association. Some of the salient features begins with continuous interactions amongst institute’s faculty, staff, students for mutual benefits through bi-lateral consent on variety of programs. We work for welfare of Alumnae and pool creative, genius and patriotic favour of the members through interactions amongst Alumnae and Alumni with the Institute. Our Alumnae encourages networking for social interactions and benefits in academic & business domains. We render assistance to the Students, promoting education & research, libraries, laboratories are some of the important ingredients of our roadmap for the upcoming students / graduates of preceding decade as the main beneficiaries. We promote establishment, maintenance of Alumni branches in India and elsewhere in the World including surveillance / participations in their local activities. We do subscribe to become member of other Associations, contribute in writing Articles, Newsletter, bulletins etc., to get recognised in various respectable forums. Holding seminars, conferences, meetings are the regular features. We aspire and nominate delegates / advisors to represent Alumni in Committees, Conferences, seminars. Alumnae promotes self employment endeavours through startups and is closely associated with entrepreneurship and career development cells functional in the Institute’s campus. Concurrently we contribute to the Institutes vision as well through select common endeavours.

Vision with no action is just a dream; action without vision is a waste; action with vision brings growth synergies worldwide in our Alumnae activities. The Management of our Association to translate the objectives set forth in our memorandum of association is through an executive committee elected every two years. The other dignitaries who provide needed support include Director of NIT as the Patron. Management Committee can nominate one ‘honorary member” from distinguished Alumni, President of Each Chapter finds a place in the Management committee. Besides India there is a provision of opting one member from Abroad. Books of Accounts are maintained and statutory audited. To ensure transparency in the financial aspects any member can see the statements of accounts. The meetings are invited with a minimum of 7 days notice. There are well prescribed rules for conducting the elections and Annual General Body Meeting (AGM). Amendment of Constitution can be done by the Governing Body through majority votes in AGM and Bylaws are posted on the Alumni website / available upon request to its live members with condition of maintaining confidentiality.

A conglomerate of Alumnae comprising engineers, architects, bio-technologist, scientists performing worldwide since 1960 i.e. 60 years timeline is a great reservoir of professional talents. With the present strength of 15000+ members in 130 groups; majority in India and in 18 Countries worldwide; their collective intelligence would surely unfold wisdom truly reflecting the Alumnae strengths in our domain of activities. GECNIT having to its credit of upbringing over 70,000 professionals who have cast their academic foundations in this institute, are spread worldwide. The Institute is currently adding about 1000 graduates, post graduates and Ph.D. We are having vision of attaining 50,000 members by 2030 - to envision the entire gamut of activities by then would be quite amazing. We have aspirations to showcase our achievements on the eve of silver jubilee of Alumnae and platinum jubilee of our Institute in the year 2031. Besides attaining the membership growth; some of the milestones that are foreseen gradually by 2030 are:

  • Golden Tower to be a fully equipped central Think Tank serving the needs of 50000+ alumnae.
  • Creation of Resource Centre to harness collective intelligence for an innovative endeavours.
  • Nurturing fun & fellowships on a local / regional / global scale by introducing newer concepts.
  • Sharing indelible imprints of college life to strengthen Alumnae bondages devoid of hierarchies.
  • Grow as a well knit social fabric of professionals in the borderless knowledge world…
