Kailash Dhar Diwan ( Ex-Officio )

Electrical Engineering- 1981 Batch

Shri Kailash Dhar Diwan has served as the Chairman cum Managing Director of Hindustan Copper Limited. Born in Dhamtari, Raipur, he completed B.E. (Electrical) from NIT, Raipur in 1981. He went on to complete L.L.B. and Graduate Diploma in Materials Management and Post Graduate Diploma in Finance and Accounts Management.

He joined Bharat Refractories Limited, Bokaro in 1983 as Asstt. Electrical Engineer and was posted at its unit  Bhilai Refractories Plant at  Bhilai  and worked his way up through the various departments like Electrical-Maintenance, Purchase, Stores, Contract Cell, Finance and Accounts, Marketing and Services, EDP etc. He was promoted to the rank of DGM (Marketing and Services) in Bharat Refractories Limited/ Bhilai Refractories Plant in 2006 and he served in that capacity till September 2007.

He moved over to Hindustan Copper Limited as Director (Operations) on 14.09.07, where he additionally headed the Materials and Contracts Department of HCL.

Shri Diwan is a wellknown faculty and expert of Material and Marketing Management and has seventeen years of experience in teaching postgraduate students of Materials and Marketing Management as a visiting faculty in a leading autonomous educational institute of Chhattisgarh, Bhilai. He is also associated with many national and state- level social organisations. He is a member in Executive Council of Chhattisgarh State Technical University, Bhilai and Member in ISM, Dhanbad.

On the personal front, Shri Diwan has a son and a daughter. His wife Dr Arti Diwan is a professor in a government college in Bhilai.
